Is there anyone more excited for back to school, than moms of elementary aged children?!? Just Kidding. I love back to school, because it brings ROUTINE! I thrive with a routine and schedule. Let's be honest, I'm sure my children prefer being with their friends all day, as opposed to mom, also!
Laney is starting Grade 1, and Leighton is going into Reception 4s. Grade 1 in German school is a very big deal. It is the equivalent to Kindergarten in The States. There is a German tradition of giving a "school cone" to the children, on their first day. The cone is, usually, filled with school supplies for the upcoming year. I purchased Laney's cone (like the one pictured) from Manufaktur Liebervoll. It turned out so cute! Laney's school provides all of her school supplies, so instead, I got her things like a new pair of trainers, a new rain coat, new wellies, and candy!
