Dubrovnik, Croatia

Next to Dubai, Dubrovnik has been my favorite vacation to date. If you watch Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik's Old Town will look familiar to you! I have never seen Game of Thrones, but Old Town is so beautiful! I loved all of the little shops, the restaurants, and the architecture. We, thoroughly, enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik. The highlights being the Tuk Tuk Tour and our Boat Tour of the Blue Caves. Both were booked, using AirBnB (links, below).

Tuk Tuk Tour | This was just so fun! We have done jeep tours, walking tours, etc. Tuk Tuk tour was different and perfect! The kids loved it! This tour took us to many different stops, showing off the beautiful city. Our tour guide, Luke, was fantastic, even with the kids.

Boat Tour | The water, the landscape, the blue caves. It wall was breath taking! Fernando, Laney, and I enjoyed getting in the water, seeing what lies beneath, and swimming into the caves. I was so proud of Laney, as she was the only kid doing this. We were surrounded by other boats, at every stop. None of them had children. Leighton stayed on the boat with the skipper (shocker). The best part was when we got to "sandy beach." The boats could only get so close to the beach, so we had to swim (probably a 100 yards), all while not getting our phones and cards wet. The hilarity that ensued. The skipper gave us waterproof bags, for our items, but they could not be submerged in water, obviously. I swam using only my legs, with Laney by my side (she was a trooper, seriously). Fernando had the task of LEIGHTON. Leighton screamed the entire trek to the beach. Once we got to the beach, all was delightful. We all enjoyed the beach, the view, the swing, the slide...all of it. It was a lot of fun! The tour was 4 hours - we go to spend 2 hours at the beach. Our tour did not include snacks, so make sure to pack your own!

Accommodation

I am not going to post, where we stayed, because I wouldn't recommend it. The area was great, the resort itself, not so much. It was walking distance to Copacabana beach, wish is a popular spot. When we go back (I am definitely going back) I would probably stay at Dubrovnik President Valamar. It looks great!

Food

At our resort we did the "light full board" - I believe that is how they termed it. We did most of our meals there, but I do have two places we really, really liked. I would like to add, there are so many great restaurant options in Old Town. We just didn't get to try them all. I wish we could have gone to: Proto and Restaurant Posat.

aRoma Gelato | Authentic gelato! The day before we tried this place, we tried a different gelato spot, it was not as good aRoma! I had pistachio both days. The pistachio at aRoma was a thousand times better. The flavor tasted real, and not artificial.

Cafe Festival | We stumbled upon this place on our last day, and I wish we had found it sooner. The food, the ambiance, and the service were just great! I had the prosciutto wrapped beef tenderloin - drool worthy! If you are visiting Old Town, I highly recommend lunch here, with a stop at aRoma after!
