As for gifts, I try not to over do it. We limit the gifts to about 5 gifts for the girls, and one shared gift. As parents, our hands are usually tied due to the items on the list for Santa, but these gifts would also work for any other children in your life.
1. Kid Camera | How fun is this?! Leighton was gifted something similar, and she loves playing with it (when it is charged). It also comes in blue, for boys. If you have older kids, the Fuji film version (German) would be great! I kind of want one for myself.

2. Lego Dots | These are always a great gift for kids. They promote critical thinking, following directions, and attention to detail. You can't go wrong with
them, for boys or girls. [German]
3. Operation | I think board games are great gifts. They bring the family together, and force your children to learn how to be a good sport (sometimes - ha!). Operation was a childhood favorite, and I still love it today! Go Fish is always fun, too (would make a great stocking stuffer)! [German]
4. Learning Resources Brainometry | I am all about educational toys. This one is fantastic! It promotes critical thinking and attention to detail. This one will be under our tree for the girls. [German]
5. Magna-Tiles | Great for all ages! We often have competitions to see who can build the best space ship, cake, etc. The kids love them, and have for years. They inspire creativity, and promote critical thinking. You can't go wrong with them![German]
