My Expat Life

Back in 2019, when we found out we were going to be moving to Germany, I must admit, I wasn't happy. I was devastated, actually. Life in Florida was great. Laney was newly 3, and Leighton was newly 1. The thought of moving, let alone moving to another country, brought all of the emotions.

The day we announced we were moving | 2019

Fast forward two and half years, and life is great here, too! The kids have now traveled to 18 different countries. Yes, EIGHTEEN! Thanks to ISD (The kids' school), we have an amazing support group. We've made so many new friends. Some of those special people have become our Expat family.

Leighton has spent most of her life in Germany - she's my little European doll! Laney is thriving in the International School System. She knows this is not our permanent landing spot, but is thrilled to call it home a little longer.

There have been many times, where I was ready to hop on a plane and never come back. The expat roller coaster does that to you, especially the first year. However, I am so thankful for this journey (and it's not over). From the people, to the amazing experiences, this chapter has been wild!

It's just the beginning of this new chapter for me. I am very excited! Going forward, I will share with you our travel experiences (expect blog posts for all of our vacations, even those previously taken). I will offer tips on traveling Europe with kids. I will, also, share about my day to day life, as a mother, as a wife, etc.

If you are thinking about doing an expat stint or traveling to Europe, and have questions, please reach out. I'd love to hear from you!
