Prague

Country #20 for The Soto Family! Prague in October, what a dream! This city is so charming. I loved it way more than I thought I would. The architecture is stunning. The views are amazing. This is a must visit, if you are ever in Europe!

We roadtripped to Prague. It was the girls' first long drive, and they did amazing!!! We definitely will road trip more often now, knowing how well they did. We were, also, lucky on this trip, as two of our family friends were in Prague. We were able to do things with both families, which always makes it more fun for the kids (the adults, too).

ACCOMODATION MOOo By The Castle | We all loved this place! Our apartment was huge, and equipped with everything we needed. It is situated in a great location. I would give it a high walkable score! As you can imagine, from the name, everything was cow related. The decorations, the pictures, the wall paper...everything! The girls loved it! Our apartment, specifically, had a secret set of stairs to nowhere. The girls loved hiding in this little room, and playing.

Downstairs was The Alchemist Bar - we had every intention of stopping for a "potion" but never found the time. It looks super, super cool!

FOOD

Kafe & Hrnky | This is a cute breakfast spot, near our hotel. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I really liked the porridge. Laney ordered the traditional Czech breakfast, and loved it! The atmosphere was great, and the coffee was delish!

Railway Restaurant | This was a hit with everyone! Everything gets delivered on trains! From your drinks, to your food. The kids and adults loved it! They had a great beer menu, to boot!

Lokal | A great restaurant for traditional Czech food. Everyone enjoyed their meals.

TRDLO | Prague is famous for their chimney cakes. It is a dough baked and rolled in cinnamon sugar. You can have it plain, or filled with things. Our family felt they were okay. Over hyped, really. :)

La Casa Argentina | This was recommended by our tour guide. He described it as the best meat in Prague. We really wanted to go our last night, but we all were too tired. If we ever come back, we will definitely stop in.

ACTIVITIES

Prague Castle | We did not go inside, but the castle is beautiful from the outside. It is situated high up on a hill, with beautiful panoramic views of Prague.

Astronomical Clock | There was a lot of hype around this, but for us it was underwhelming.

Prague Old Car Tour | This was a very unique experience. We got to tour the city, while in the back of an old car. Even in the cold months, it is doable, as they have blankets, heated seats, and floor heaters. We got to see sights like The Dancing House, The Rotating Head, Paris Street, and more. I highly recommend this, if you have kids. Our girls loved it, as did I!

Museum of the Senses | This was definitely the highlight of the trip for the girls. While the museum is small, there is so much to entertain the kids. We spent about an hour there, but the kids would have stayed longer, if they were not hungry. It was fun for the adults, also! Fernando and I both liked laying on the bed of nails.

Botanical Garden Halloween Exhibition | This was really cool, once we found it. The botanical gardens area is HUGE, and we got lost for about 20 minutes. There was great food, face painting, pumpkin carving, and more! We highly recommend the sausages! If you are visiting Prague around Halloween its a great time for the family. The kids got to wear the costumes, which they loved!

Charles Bridge | According to our tour guide, it is the most famous bridge in the world. More than 200 million people crossing it, each year. You must go very early morning, otherwise you will be walking shoulder to shoulder with the thousands of other people on it. We went around 8:30, and it was perfect. However, when we walked by it, in the afternoon, it was packed. I'm unsure how anyone was able to take pictures.
