Venice

I have a very unpopular opinion...I am not a huge fan of Venice. Ha! I might be the only person on Earth, who feels this way. The rest of my family adores it. They would go back today, if we could. One of Laney's favorite trips was Venice, because of the banana split she had with her dad.

ACCOMMODATION Like in Rome, we had two additional guests for this visit. We did an AirBnb, again. If your group is larger than 4 people, I would highly recommend the place we stayed. The host was fantastic! The space was very spacious, with nice views, and a quick walk to Piazza San Marco. Also, the water taxi can drop you off very close by, less than a 5 minute walk.

FOOD We made breakfast every morning in our AirBnB. For lunch, we picked one of the restaurants around Piazza San Marco. They all have similar menus, just pick one with a great view. The infamous banana split was from one of these places.

Falciani Ristorante Pizzeria | We enjoyed lunch here. The food was good, the drinks were great, the service was fantastic. I found it to be a little pricey, for lunch, but around Piazza San Marco everything is a little over priced (tourism).

Ristorante La Piazza | Fernando and I had dinner here with some friends. It was delish! The pasta from the cheese bowl (not sure how you term it) was just amazing!! I highly recommend this place for dinner. The service and food were outstanding!

The infamous banana split.

ACTIVITIES

Gondola Ride | It goes without saying you need to ride a gondola while in Venice. Borano and Murano Day Trips | We had every intention to head to both of these islands, off of Venice. However, Venice was the last stop on our Italian holiday, and we all were exhausted. I really wanted to do this day trip or tour of Burano. If we ever make our way back there, we will do one of these tours.

Kids Mask Making | This was the highlight of our trip to Venice, for me. Leighton fell asleep on the way there, so Laney was able to make two masks! She enjoyed every second of it. The sisters, who own this shop, are so kind and welcoming. They are talented and work so well with children. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Have you been to Venice? Did you love it as much as everyone else does?
